Essay Title: “The Long Road to Diagnosis: A Journey of Resilience". The David R. Cox Scholarship for Rare Compassion, now in its third year, was developed to create an opportunity for medical students to connect with the rare disease community with the goal of developing their understanding and compassion for the challenges and lifestyles that patients diagnosed with a rare disease are faced with on a daily basis.
Global Genes featured rareDIG in the Spotlight Series. The RARE Patient Advocacy Summit in San Diego offered many unique opportunities to support the rare community by participating in the largest educational event for rare patients and advocates.

rareDIG was in Washington, D.C. at the NORD Summit. Sean and Cyril were representing rareDIG and learning how we can better educate medical students about rare diseases and alleviate some of the challenges people with rare diseases face.
